Template:MGMT SUMMARY

I had {{MGMT SUMMARY}} speedy deleted as a test, and it was then recreated with a {{Being deleted}} tag that I believe to be incorrect, probably copied from another template awaiting merge. Does anybody know anything about it? I posted on the user's talk page to try to explain they can use userspace to make test templates. --PC-XT+ 04:17, 18 September 2014 (UTC)

As far as I remember, I believe the speedy deleted template had the following content (in nowiki tags): {{MGMT SUMMARY | birth = 1 | death = 2 }} --PC-XT+ 05:50, 18 September 2014 (UTC)

Template:The Office Season Pages Move

where does this belong? 198.102.153.1 (talk) 20:18, 20 October 2014 (UTC)

I think that it's been redundant since this edit. --Redrose64 (talk) 21:10, 20 October 2014 (UTC)

TFD or Speedy? 198.102.153.1 (talk) 20:11, 20 October 2014 (UTC)

Looks like a test page. Give it a {{db-test}} --Redrose64 (talk) 21:13, 20 October 2014 (UTC)

TfD notifications

Several times of late, I've nominated templates for deletion, only to have people !voting "speedy keep" (or even impugning my motives and integrity - including by admins, who should know better) because they do not like to see TfD notifications transcluded into articles, talk pages, or elsewhere.

OTOH, there have been instances in the past, when TfD notifications have been wrapped in "noinclude" tags, that people have made accusations that the nomination was underhand or "sneaky".

I also note that Twinkle's option to "noinclude" the notification is clearly labelled "for substituted templates only".

How can we resolve these issues? Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 23:24, 1 November 2014 (UTC)

Backlog cleaning

Hi all, inspired by Andy Mabbots cleanup offensive, I'd like to clear out Wikipedia:Templates for discussion/Holding cell, which by now is dating back to 2012. If anyone would like to help, that would be greatly appreciated. I'd like to ask anyone who'd like to help with this to

  • Pick a template from the list
  • Do what needs doing
  • If you're unsure of what to do (I'm unsure at many of them myself), make a note on the templates entry at the holding cell page, so we can help each other.
  • If we need automation WP:Botreq should be able to offer assistance.
  • If something needs some time (i.e. waiting for a bot to be created to fulfill a task, or a notification should be displayed for a while) make a note at the entry of what it is waiting for, and when that should be completed.
  • If you think we should go about this differently, tell me so in no unclear terms, possibly augmented with trout.
  • I'll be giving away {{The Template Barnstar}} to anyone who helps to move the process forward by any mainspace or template space edits.

I'll add "Mabbots" to the list of misspellings my family has collected over the years ;-) Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 11:31, 28 October 2014 (UTC)
I'd love to see that list, though I intended the misspelling "Andy Mabbot's cleanup offensive". which is at least less of a misspelling of your name, and more equal parts misspelling and poor grammar to keep things balanced. (sorry!) Martijn Hoekstra (talk) 12:02, 28 October 2014 (UTC)

Ready for deletion

{{Infobox UK property}}; {{Infobox String Quartet}}; {{Infobox mixed use development}}; {{Infobox Complexity Class}}: All now orphaned an awaiting deletion. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 23:53, 2 November 2014 (UTC)

+ {{Infobox Upper Hutt suburbs}}. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 19:40, 3 November 2014 (UTC)

Fifth year in a row: worst guideline on enwiki

Sigh. Did Step I of the TfD process, for multiple templates. It now says: "(but still not changing the PAGENAME code).". The word "PAGENAME" does not occur in the preceding text. I find it a horror to enter this process. Such a chaotic guides scare me off. Also the parameter |heading= is named |title= in the other one. Or it could be |header=. And the whole text with dozens of decision points keeps repeating to me the merge-variants, and jumps back to the "the above". Why has this never been brought in line? -DePiep (talk) 15:35, 12 November 2014 (UTC)

That's Wikipedia:Templates for discussion/Header. --Redrose64 (talk) 19:45, 12 November 2014 (UTC)
Partially. Parameter names are elsewhere. -DePiep (talk) 21:45, 12 November 2014 (UTC)
To save the idea: Templates {{tfd2}} and {{tfm2}} used on this page should say "delete" or "merge" respectively. The nom often does not add it, so it leaves the reader assuming. -DePiep (talk) 00:27, 18 November 2014 (UTC)

can this be found/deleted?

{{=)|sarcastic}} which produces: Thanks Gregkaye ?? 07:04, 20 November 2014 (UTC)

I'm not completely sure what you mean with found/deleted. You already found it, it's at template:=), which is a redirect to {{smiley}}. It has a number of smileys on it. Depending on what you want to do, the following is possible:
  1. Remove only sarcastic: Remove it from the template. I suggest going through the talkpage first - hard removing will lead to breakage of current uses, which seems overly disruptive, so it probably needs some planning/subst'ing
  2. Delete the entire template: Nominate the template for deletion. The template is fairly widely used, so expect a lot of drama if you do this.

Wikipedia talk:Administrators' noticeboard/Requests for closure#NAC Deletes

There is a discussion about non-admins closing discussions as "delete" at Wikipedia talk:Administrators' noticeboard/Requests for closure#NAC Deletes. See the subsection Wikipedia talk:Administrators' noticeboard/Requests for closure#So, this is the question we're asking, where the opening poster wrote, "Should non-adminstrators be allowed to close deletion discussions as delete?"
